Collection: The Fool Moons

a series of stoneware ceramic round jars that reflect on the struggle to be present in a time shaped by excess information, choices, and constant distraction. In an effort to find clarity, I often turn to practices like meditation, treating stillness as something to achieve, like another task within another cycle of a busy mind.

Inspired by Zen philosophy and the enso, I translate the act of drawing a circle into a three-dimensional form.Through repetition of coiling by hands, each jar emerges, making circles that mirror the looping patterns of thought—restless, unresolved until they slowly settle into the form of a Full Moon.

What begins as a kind of simple repetition gradually becomes whole. The form of the full moon jar holds a quiet sense of completion, which is not perfect, but present.

In this way, the work reflects on slowing down as a path toward clarity, an act of filtering, of returning, and of finding stillness within the noise
